What makes a place memorable? MODU designs across disciplines—crafting an interplay between architecture, urban spaces, and interiors.

Architecture That Shapes Lives

Architecture, as new buildings or transformations of existing ones, mediates between physical structures and immaterial atmospheres. Designing with atmospheric conditions in mind—such as light, temperature, and sound—integrates architecture into its surroundings. These considerations, essential to bioclimatic design, encourage human interactions with the environment within energy-efficient and healthy buildings.

Cities in Climate Transformation

Urbanism, encompassing urban design and planning research, can activate a city’s public realm while strengthening its communities. Designing urban environments integrated with landscapes fosters resilient, regenerative spaces. Incorporating data—such as environmental conditions—into the design process is essential, as preserving existing resources are vital in shaping an equitable urban future for all.

Interiors Connected to Nature

Interior design creates multi-sensory experiences by connecting tactile materials with human perception. Interiors can connect people to nature, even indirectly, by enhancing elements such as light and air. Where possible, direct physical connections between indoor and outdoor environments, especially green spaces, improve people’s health and well-being. This environmentally focused approach to interior design creates distinctive visual identities while minimizing environmental impact.
